This February half term, The Together Centre are offering free school lunches and craft activity Packs to children who are unable to leave their homes due to their parent or carer’s health and/or wellbeing.
The Together Centre is providing this vital offer to families in Tameside ensuring they reach all families who need support. This project is supported by the ‘hey girls’ Charity and this links into the Tameside Fuel4fun project delivered by several partners across Tameside.
The Together Centre provides a variety of services and activities for all ages. Based at 287 Birch Lane, Dukinfield SK16 5AU, their fully accessible community hub hosts The Together Café in partnership with Active Tameside, providing affordable and home cooked food for as little as £4.50 for a delicious two course warming meal.
Councillor Bill Fairfoull, Deputy Executive Leader with responsibility for Children and Families, said: ‘’The offer of a free lunch delivered directly to families who cannot easily leave the house is an amazing and much-needed effort from The Together Centre.’’
‘’ This project aims to support struggling families in Tameside, ensuring families who need the support receive it. This support is needed more than ever as the cost of living rises. Hopefully easing the pressure for some families who are falling on hard times.’’
