THE Civic Mayor of Tameside, Cllr Mike Glover, is hoping to see donations blossom along with the trees when he hosts his charity ball at Dukinfield Town Hall on Saturday, March 18.
All proceeds from the “Spring is in the Air” themed function will be donated to the Mayor’s Charity Appeal Fund which this year supports the Anthony Seddon Fund, the Christie Charity, the Greater Manchester Asbestos Victims’ Support Group, and Smallshaw Tenants and Residents’ Association.
Cllr Glover said: “What better way to say goodbye to winter, and to welcome the spring and the brighter days it offers, than by having some fun while at the same time supporting charities that do an invaluable job?
“Everyone’s welcome. I hope it’s a sell-out night and we make lots of money for the mayoral appeal and causes that are so close to my heart.”
The evening starts at 6.30 with drinks reception and entertainment from table magician Rob Bardsley and the Monday Mondays choir with their distinctive five-part harmony sound. The four-course dinner follows at 7.30, after which there will be a high-energy show from singer Tom McLeod and then dancing until midnight.
Tickets are £40 each. Dress is dinner jacket or lounge suit. To make a reservation call 0161 342 3087
