DO you have any items loaned to you by Tameside and Glossop Community Equipment Service that you no longer use? If so, they are asking that you return it so that other people can benefit.
All equipment that is returned helps to meet critical needs within the community and keep people safe and supported at home, while also serving to reduce costs and maintain stock levels.
The items, which can be returned if no longer needed, include but are not limited to:
Cllr John Taylor, Tameside Council’s executive member for adult services, said: “Equipment and aids do a great deal to make life liveable for the people who need them and make genuine use of them. Once that need has passed it’s very important they are returned so others can benefit from their use.”
Health and social care professionals can advise anyone who is unsure if and when it’s safe to give up use of prescribed care equipment.
Items can be returned by calling 0161 344 0482 between 8.30am and 4.30pm (Monday to Friday) and using option two to arrange the safe collection.
Please do not donate any equipment to charity shops or take it to scrap-metal dealers. If you no longer need it, return it so that someone else can benefit.
