Tameside Council want to know what is important to unpaid carers who live in Tameside.
An unpaid carer includes residents who look after their partner, child, parent, neighbour or friend due to a disability, frailty, long term illness, mental health and/or substance misuse issues.
The Tameside Carer’s survey aims to capture the experiences of unpaid carers, how they can be best supported and where services can improve. This survey will ensure that the voices of residents who look after someone one are heard and their views and opinions are acknowledged.
The survey only takes around 5-10 minutes to complete and asks for feedback on the proposed key themes of the Carers strategy. All responses to the will inform a three year strategy to ensure unpaid carers are supported and recognised for their hard work and contributions.
Councillor John Taylor, Tameside Council’s executive member for Adult Social Care, said: ‘’ This survey is a crucial part of forming the future of support for unpaid carers in Tameside. By listening to their expert views and experiences we can ensure we know how they feel and how we can improve and tailor our carer’s service to their needs.’’
‘’The survey doesn’t take long but the feedback is invaluable. Responses will inform our next steps in how we can best support and recognise their hard work and dedication.’’
Any sensitive issues discussed will be kept in the strictest confidence and subject to all relevant data protection laws.
