Tameside is a celebrating Care Home Open week 2023 to show appreciation for care sector professionals who go above and beyond to support residents and families.
Care Home Open Week runs (June 23 to July 2) is an opportunity to appreciate the hard work and dedication of those who work within our boroughs care homes. Care Homes across Tameside have been holding open days to promote their facilities, activities and services. The open days also aim to build valuable connections with the local community and promote career and volunteering opportunities.
Councillor John Taylor, Tameside Council’s Executive Member for Adult Social Care, said: ‘’This week is a great opportunity to let all our care home workers know how valued they are. We must recognise the job they do is very important as they provide outstanding support to residents and their families.
‘’It’s been a particularly difficult few years with the pressures of protecting residents from COVID. But the workforce in our care homes were still able to provide exceptional care and personalised support.’’
On Monday 26 June, Cllr John Taylor was joined by Council Officers in a visit to The Beeches Care Home in Dukinfield. This visit was to highlight the importance of their role within our communities and to champion their staff.
