Autumn Employment Fair is Just the Job

IF you’re looking for a job, a change of scene, or just some advice – look no further than the Tameside Autumn Jobs Fair. You’ll find a wide range of local employers offering work in many sectors.

Among those who will be promoting their vacancies at the Wednesday, October 11, event at Dukinfield Town Hall, are the Army, Bennett Staff Bureau, Greater Manchester Pension Fund, the Hyde Group, Jigsaw, NHS, North West Ambulance Service, Stagecoach, Tameside Council, Truckcraft Bodies and Village Hotels.

Tameside College will also be at the fair – which is organised by Tameside Council and sponsored by Jigsaw Homes and Turning Point – along with services such as Routes to Work and Tameside in Work, to offer advice and support about training and education.

Cllr David Sweeton, Tameside Council’s executive member for inclusive growth, business and employment, said: “The autumn jobs fair is all about helping people discover new opportunities. That could be through their first job, a change of career, or through training and education to discover new opportunities or routes back to work.

“The fair is shaping up very nicely but we still have room for more employers. If you represent a business, are recruiting and would like to be involved, we would very much like to hear from you.

“I would also like to thank Jigsaw Homes and Turning Point for their generous sponsorship.”

A  Jigsaw spokesperson added: “We have always benefited greatly by engaging with residents who attend to promote our vacancies alongside the wide variety of support we can offer to job-seekers and people looking for new opportunities to learn and develop their skills.

“We look forward to working with Tameside Council, other local employers and providers on the day to help make it a successful event for everyone.”

Tameside Autumn Jobs Fair takes place at Dukinfield Town Hall on Wednesday, October 11, and will be open from 10am to 1pm. There is no need for appointments. Just drop in on the day
