Information Stall Makes Safeguarding Everyone’s Business

Organisations such as the police, fire and social care will be highlighting how they work together to protect and prevent people from experiencing abuse and neglect at an information stall for National Adult Safeguarding Week.

The stall, organised by Tameside’s Adult Safeguarding Partnership Board (TASPB), will be held on Monday 20 November at Ashton Markets Wellbeing Corner, from 9:30 am to 12:30pm.

National Adult Safeguarding Week (NASW) takes place from 20-25 November and is an opportunity to highlight key safeguarding issues, start conversations and raise awareness of safeguarding best practice.

TASPB oversee safeguarding arrangements across Tameside. The board is committed to working together to ensure that local safeguarding arrangements act to protect and prevent adults in Tameside from experiencing abuse or neglect. 

Organisations attending the information stall include:

•           Tameside Adult Social Care

•           Integrated Care Board

•           Greater Manchester Police

•           Healthwatch

•           Voiceability

•           Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service

Executive Member for Adult Social Care Cllr John Taylor said: ‘’TASPB are starting crucial conversations about safeguarding adults, and we want all the community to be involved. The stall will give people the opportunity to ask questions and find out firsthand how we are all working together to keep our residents safe from neglect and abuse.”
