Families and individuals are being offered support with the rising cost of living through a series of drop-ins being held across Tameside’s Family Hubs.
These events mark the return of last winter’s Helping Hand campaign, which brought residents advice on money management, benefit support, pension credit, energy efficiency and support with bills, health and wellbeing, housing support and support into employment.
Sessions at these locations are primarily targeting parents and families, but all residents are welcome to attend the drop-ins which will run every other week and start on the following dates:
North Family Hub
Tuesday 28 November, 2pm-4pm, Trafalgar Square, Ashton, OL7 0LL.
West Family Hub
Wednesday 29 November, 10am – 12pm, Greenside, Greenside Lane, Droylsden, M34 7RA.
East Family Hub
Tuesday 5 December, 10am – 12pm, School Crescent, Ridge Hill, Stalybridge, SK15 1EA.
South Family Hub
Friday 8 December, 10am – 12pm, Old Road, Hyde, SK14 4SQ.
Cllr Eleanor Wills, Tameside Council Executive Member for Health and Wellbeing, said: “Cost-of-living pressures are still impacting residents right across our borough so it’s vital we continue to provide support through the much-needed Helping Hand campaign. In the run-up to Christmas and with the weather getting colder, this can be a particularly hard time of year for a lot of people with larger bills to pay.
“If there’s any support or advice you need, please come along to our Helping Hand events to speak with the team, which kick off this winter at Tameside’s Family Hubs.”
