Tameside Community Response Service (CRS) are letting existing customers know that they will be in touch to upgrade telecare products such as personal alarms and fall monitors.
The Digital Switchover is taking place between now and 2025, this means our old telephone lines are being replaced with a more reliable digital network. CRS are currently arranging visits with those who already use the service to swap old devices to new versions compatible with the new digital network.
CRS have already been in touch with over 2000 customers and will be contacting the remaining customers between now and December 2025. They will never ask for personal or bank details over the phone and existing units will continue to work until replacement.
Executive Member for Adult Social Care Cllr John Taylor said: ‘’Our Community Response Service supports over 2500 residents across Tameside to live well and safely in their own homes.
‘’It is important we share this message with our family, friends and others in our communities who access their telecare support. Crucially telling those you know who may not be online so they are aware someone from the service will be in touch.’’
