Tameside’s Learning Disability Service Awarded ‘Good’ Rating by CQC

Tameside Councils Learning Disability Service have received an overall rating of ‘Good’ in a recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Tameside Learning Disability Service is a care agency, providing personal care to people in their own homes. The service provides support to people with a physical disability, learning disability and autistic people within a supported living setting.

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) is an independent regulator of all health and care providers in England. On inspection CQC found that the service maintained its rating as ‘good’ and continues to provide the right care, culture, and right support for those who access care and support. The service has shown that it is ‘’well-led, safe, effective, caring, and responsive’’.

Feedback demonstrated that those who access support from the service were encouraged by staff to be as independent as possible. The inspection highlighted that the service supported people to have maximum choice and control of their lives. They displayed that people were involved in their care planning and that these plans were regularly reviewed and adapted to suit people’s changing needs.
