Parents and carers are invited to meet local children’s services which support children, young people, and families across Tameside at an event in March.
Taking place on Saturday 2 March from 10.30am-2.30pm at Level 1 of Tameside One, Market Place, Ashton, families will be able to connect with local services, find information on topics affecting day-to-day life, plus there will be play sessions for children.
The event is designed to bring an array of services under one roof to give families direct access to the free support available to them. Information stalls available on the day will include advice on physical and mental health, infant feeding and family support, money and benefits advice, as well as what’s on from the cultural and library teams.
Teams from Tameside’s Family Hubs and Active Tameside will be providing fun activities for children, including art and craft sessions, planting seeds, and bike obstacle courses to try out.
Tameside Council Deputy Executive Leader, Councillor Bill Fairfoull, said: “With a range of free support available to our local families, it’s important that we bring events like this to the community to ensure parents and carers know what is accessible to them. Bringing our Children’s Services teams together from Tameside Council and partner organisations in a central location is an ideal way to highlight this in an informal setting.”
Access to Level 1 of Tameside One is by the steps next to Ashton Library, or by taking the stairs or lift within the library.
