Date Released - 18/06/2024

SUPPORT is available for people having difficulty paying the bills, with some upcoming Helping Hand sessions through the borough’s family hubs where residents can get support with a variety of issues.

These are open to all Tameside residents and are organised by the council's Welfare Rights team to provide information, advice and signposting for people struggling financially.

Next drop-in session dates:

Anyone needing support with finances, including debts and income maximisation, should pop in where the team can provide advice or signpost to a relevant organisation.

Cllr Eleanor Wills, Tameside Council Executive Member for Population Health and Wellbeing, said: “The rising cost of living is putting a strain on many households in our community. These Helping Hand sessions are designed to provide practical support and guidance to help residents manage their finances and access essential services. We encourage anyone who is struggling to attend these sessions and take advantage of the support available.”
