Launch of the Local Offer Partnership Website

Date Released - 17/07/2024

Parents and carers of young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) across Tameside can now find information, support groups and activities in the area with the exciting launch of the new Local Offer partnership website.

Following feedback from local families, and working in partnership with early years, education, and health services, it offers a single place where children and young people aged 0-25-years-old with SEND, their families, parents and carers can access advice, support, services and things to do from partners across the borough.

The website is part of the partnership’s wider plans to improve access to support for children and young people with SEND, with the aim that it will provide the tools, resources and support they need.

Tameside Council Deputy Executive Leader, Councillor Bill Fairfoull, said: “Enhancing our SEND support as a Local Offer partnership is our ongoing commitment to Tameside families and I’m very pleased that the new website is now live. Providing a range of information online highlights the support available in the area and I hope it helps our children, young people and families access the resources and additional help that is available to them.”

There is also the option to subscribe to the SENDing You News e-newsletter which is sent each term providing the latest news from organisations that make up the local partnership, as well as relevant topics nationally.

Further feedback on how to update and improve the website is welcomed to continue to provide the latest information, news and events by emailing local.offer@tameside.gov.uk
