Tameside’s Adult Safeguarding Partnership Board (TASPB) are holding a community support event in collaboration with Hyde Bangladesh Welfare Association on Tuesday 17 September, 12pm until 2pm.

TASPB has a role to oversee and co-ordinate the effectiveness of adult safeguarding across Tameside. During this event the organisations will provide information and advice on what abuse, neglect and self-neglect can look like and how to report concerns.

Local support services and organisations will be on hand offering support and advice to keep residents and their families well. Services attending include Tameside Adult Social Care, Greater Manchester Police, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service, Jigsaw Homes, Welfare Rights, Tameside Carers Centre and more.

Rooms for private conversations and Bengali translators will be available on the day.

Executive Member for Adult Social Care Councillor John Taylor said: ‘’ This in-person event raises awareness on what people can do if they’re worried about someone being neglected, abused or self-neglecting which is very important to keep our communities safe. At this event there’s also the chance to talk to other support services about how they can help our residents and their families to keep well.’’

Hyde Bangladesh Welfare Association is based at 19 Chapel Street in Hyde, SK14 1LF.  Find out more about this event and the services attending at www.tameside.gov.uk/communitysupportevent
