Feedback wanted on the Tameside SEND Strategy

Date Released - 30/09/2024

RESIDENTS, professionals, parents and others are being invited to attend one of the two upcoming virtual meetings to provide feedback on the Tameside SEND (Special, Educational Needs and Disability) Strategy.

The virtual meetings will take place on Wednesday 2 October, at 6pm and Thursday 3 October at 6pm both to be hosted on Microsoft Teams.

Greater Manchester’s Integrated Care Board (GM ICB) and Tameside Council have recently ran various surveys, group consultations and one-to-one interviews.

From which GM ICB and Tameside Council have developed and identified important outcomes, called I-Statements.

Both organisations are asking the people of Tameside to feedback on whether the I-Statements and Joint Commissioning Priorities are an accurate reflection of the family’s SENDs needs and if the support you receive is meeting your family’s needs.

Residents can view the slides that are going to be presented at the virtual meetings here.

Tameside Council Executive Member for Children’s Services, Councillor Teresa Smith, said: “We are encouraging everyone to join where they can, as your feedback is of utmost importance and value to us, as it can help us improve our strategy moving forward.

“In doing so, you will be helping us create a more supportive network for Tameside’s children, young people and families with SEND.”
