Date Released - 03/10/2024

MORE than 600 residents looking to kickstart or advance their careers attended Tameside’s Autumn Jobs Fair at Dukinfield Town Hall.

Hosted by Tameside Council’s Employment & Skills team, the event on 25 September brought together 40 local employers and 20 support services, providing valuable opportunities for residents to access live job roles and receive expert advice from careers and skills providers.

A wide range of job sectors was represented at the event, including healthcare, engineering, manufacturing, education, and hospitality. Leading employers in Tameside such as Jigsaw Homes, Tameside & Glossop Integrated Care, The Hyde Group, Stepan, Robertson and Greater Academies Education Trust were on hand to engage with potential candidates and discuss available job opportunities and career paths.

Attendees were also given the opportunity to share feedback about the day, resulting in many positive comments regarding the opportunities available and support they received from volunteers during the event.

Councillor Jack Naylor, Tameside Council’s executive member for inclusive growth, business, and employment, said:

"It is great to see the people of Tameside taking up this fantastic opportunity to come and meet with local employers and skills providers. The attendance of over 600 residents highlights their ambition and drive to seek out new job opportunities, develop their skills, and find support to improve their career prospects”.

“Thank you to all the employers, training providers, attendees, and organisers for helping promote and support employment across Tameside."
