Social care staff celebrated the completion of their Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) this week, increasing the number of social workers providing support to families in Tameside.
Furthermore, existing employees were also recognised with the successful completion of additional qualifications to support their working practices.
By giving the ASYE opportunity to 22 newly qualified social workers, Tameside Council Children’s Services are committed to investing in the future of social care with training and development opportunities to those wanting to work with children, young people and families.
Completing the qualification whilst in the workplace is allowing employees to pick up a unique set of skills by combining knowledge, emotional intelligence and analytical skills.
A Tameside Council spokesperson said: “In Tameside we are investing in our staff with a quality learning and development offer which will not only support them to build skills and knowledge to better support the children, young people and families in Tameside, but to also support employees to develop their own career goals.”
Tameside Council are continuing to develop their Children’s Service’s teams with the upcoming launch of the Social Work Academy and recruiting into permanent roles as part of their improvement journey.
