Event to Connect Tameside’s Residents with Support

Date Released - 31/10/2024

SUPPORT for Tameside’s communities will be available in-person at an event hosted by Tameside Adult Safeguarding Partnership Board (TASPB).

This National Adult Safeguarding Week (18-22 November) TASPB’s theme is ‘working in partnership’ and residents are invited to a community event at Denton Festival Hall, where they can meet local support services and organisations.

On Wednesday 20 November from 10am until 12noon people can connect with over 20 services including Tameside’s Adult Social Care (including Safeguarding, The Learning Disability Team, The Carers Centre), Tameside Family Hubs, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service, Greater Manchester Police and Jigsaw Housing. Tameside Welfare Rights Service will also be providing pension credit support.

More information and a full list of services attending can be found at https://www.tameside.gov.uk/communitysupportevent

Tameside Council Executive Member for Adult Social Care Cllr John Taylor said: “I’m delighted Denton Festival Hall have invited TASPB to collaborate with them in hosting this community event.

“Partnership allows us all to share our knowledge of safeguarding. It encourages us to consider how we can work more closely to establish a safer culture within our workplaces and communities.

“Abuse is never acceptable, and Tameside Adults Safeguarding Partnership Board is committed to working with others to prevent and stop it.”
