SEVERAL Council-owned sites have been declared surplus assets to allow them to be disposed of to bring in money for Tameside.
Tameside Council’s Executive Cabinet has agreed to the proposal, which allows consultation to take place over the disposal of the sites. This will not only generate income and development in Tameside but will also reduce costs.
The sites include:
Councillor Jack Naylor, Tameside Council’s Executive Member for Finance and Resources, said: “By declaring these sites as surplus assets, we can now move forward in disposing of these vacant and unused plots of land to bring in money for the borough, reduce costs and enable development across Tameside.”
The Council will look to obtain best value for any property sold, underpinned with an independent RICS valuation.
