THE Tameside Means Business Net Zero Festival will be bigger and better than ever when it returns on Friday 6 December (9am to 1pm).
Once again taking place at Global Grooves' Centre for Carnival Arts at The Vale on Micklehurst Road, Mossley, its aim is to bring together local businesses in support of the collaborative journey to net-zero carbon emissions.
The festival will feature guest speakers, interactive experiences, green business networking and much more to help businesses move forward while being part of a collective that makes a positive change for all.
Plans are in hand for a NetWalk with participants meeting before thefestival to walk or cycle to the event with the objective of reducing emissions, cutting traffic, getting active and getting to know each other.
Cllr Laura Boyle, Tameside Council’s executive member for environmental services and neighbourhoods, said: “The organisers will have to work hard to improve on last year’s festival which was a huge success with many people attending. I’m delighted to hear they plan to do better.
“Events like this, and our wider Think Green campaign, are vitally important when it comes to inspiring residents and businesses to join the journey to a cleaner and greener Tameside, and the common goal of being carbon neutral in Greater Manchester by 2038.”
Supported by the council and the Business Growth Hub, and sponsored by Dukinfield-based sustainable tech company MBH Global, the net zero festival, which is free to attend, will provide opportunities to take advantage of fully-funded offers and peer-to-peer support to help expand businesses.
