‘Through The Seasons’ Calendar competition showcases Tameside’s beauty

Date Released - 03/02/2025

Residents have proudly captured Tameside’s beauty in a local calendar competition.

Tameside Community Champions’ new ‘Through The Seasons’ calendar, supported by Tameside Council, showcases a range of picturesque photographs submitted by local people over the past 12 months.

The winning entries will be exhibited at Local Studies and Archives Centre, Cotton Street East, Ashton-under-Lyne from 3 February 2025 until 17 March 2025 for people to come and view.

A substantial number of excellent shots were entered into the competition, including the Northern Lights, snow days and historical statues.

Each month the calendar features a photo that truly represents Tameside through the seasons.

Tameside Council Executive Member for Culture and Lifelong Learning Cllr Leanne Feeley said: “It’s fantastic to work with our community champions and other local residents to produce the calendar, which is a wonderful celebration of Tameside and our local beauty spots as well as of our brilliant local photographic talent.

“I would encourage people to come along and view the free exhibition of the winning entries – it’s lovely to see how different people capture and appreciate our local area. A huge thank you to everyone who entered the competition as well as our community champions who have been involved in running it.”

To Think Green, a digital copy of the calendar is available here.

The Tameside Community Champions Network brings residents and communities together to share important local information and support health and wellbeing. This is the third year they have run the calendar competition.
