Supporting Tameside residents to live independently for longer

BIRCH Lea Park is a new Housing with Care scheme offering Tameside’s residents aged 55 and over a home in a place they can be proud of.

A joint venture by Tameside Council and Onward Homes, Birch Lea Park is set to welcome its first residents in Spring 2025. Supporting residents to stay independent and well in their home, the scheme in the heart of Hattersley hosts 91 accessible apartments with modern amenities.

Birch Lea Park also a range of on-site services to accommodate those with existing care needs and those who may require support in the future. On-site care will be provided by Creative Support, a long-standing care provider for Tameside, allowing tailored support and care packages for those that need them. A dedicated Scheme Manager will also be present on site.

Alongside quality apartments, a range of facilities will be delivered to create a strong community feel. These include a café/bistro, hair salon and a beauty therapy room. Residents can also enjoy a private courtyard and garden and have access to a laundry room, mobility scooter storage. Wheelchair access, lifts to all floors, and free Wi-Fi are also provided.

Tameside Council Executive Member for Adult Social Care Cllr John Taylor said: “Living at Birch Lea offers peace of mind for both the people who live there and their families, with so much on-site and in the local area to keep people independent and inspired.
