A GATHERING was held at Hyde Town Hall to help commemorate the Eid festivities.
Tameside Council’s Race Equality and Cultural Heritage (REACH) network hosted colleagues and local community members to come together and share celebrations for Eid-al-Fitr 2025.
The Eid: Celebrate and Share event, provided an opportunity for teams to learn more about community, the meaning of Ramadan and the Eid holiday.
Guest speakers included a local Imam, who gave insight into Ramadan and the celebration of Eid, and Executive Member for Population Health & Equalities Cllr Sharif, who discussed building resilience and supporting cohesion.
Following this, attendees had a selection of delicious food and drinks by sponsors Turnpike by Maya, Khushamdid, Go on… treat yourself and Fireaway Pizza.
Cllr Sharif, Executive Member for Population Health & Equalities, said:
"We had a truly wonderful afternoon, coming together to celebrate Eid al-Fitr in unity and admiration. It was a fantastic opportunity to share the significance of this important celebration and its rich history with others. We were also delighted to enjoy delicious diverse food and desserts generously provided by local sponsors.
