Residents make the most of the Spring Jobs Fair

Date Released - 17/04/2025

Over 900 residents dropped in to Dukinfield Town Hall to link up with local employers and organisations at the Spring Jobs Fair.

Tameside Council’s Employment and Skills Team hosted the popular event with over forty employers and twenty training providers looking to meet with potential candidates.

On the day attendees received firsthand support during the application process from employers and providers, and some also had interviews arranged on the spot.

There was a wide variety of roles on offer for attendees, including casual work, full-time work and training opportunities. As always there was also support on hand from Routes to Work, Work Well, Tameside In Work, Tameside Futures and other Tameside Council teams offering bespoke support to help promote employment and upskilling.

Residents also had chance to provide feedback to the teams, whereby appreciation and thanks was given for the event.

Cllr Leanne Feeley Tameside Council’s Executive Member for Lifelong Learning and Culture said: “The great turn out shows that events like these are really important to residents offering valuable support to residents to help them gain work and training opportunities. It is great to see that over 900 attendees came along to make the most of the support and roles that local employers are recruiting for. It’s a real partnership effort between employers and the council.

“Thank you to the teams that organised this brilliant event, and the employers, organisations and businesses involved in helping make the event such a success while supporting residents to find the available jobs in Tameside.”
