GRANTS of £1000 are available to help fund projects that will bring cultural and creative opportunities to Tameside communities and attract more visitors.

The funds can be used to cover the costs of speakers, arts and crafts workshops, dance, theatre or music performances, developing a play or a film, creating an exhibition or art trail, or any other reasonable costs for holding an activity or event.

Tameside Council Executive Member for Lifelong Learning and Culture Cllr Leanne Feeley said: “I’m really excited about this grant. It will support the creation of a vibrant and diverse programme of cultural activities across Tameside and find new ways of encouraging people to engage with the arts while celebrating our town centres and green spaces and attracting more visitors and supporting our local economy.

“I encourage artists, creative organisations and community groups to find out more. We welcome applications from people who are new to funding as well as those who have applied for other funding previously.”

Applications open on Monday 12 May and close on 16 June at midnight. To find out more see www.intameside.co.uk/news/tameside-creative-communities-grants

The grants will be awarded to ensure an even spread of creative activity across Tameside, spanning all kinds of modes of creating and engaging.
