Exciting new business opportunities at Ashton Market Square

The redevelopment of Ashton Market Square is well underway, with the eagerly anticipated reopening on the horizon for Spring 2026. As part of the transformation, the site will feature 10 brand-new, high-quality kiosks that will become a vibrant focal point of the new market space.

Several well-known and much-loved local traders have already signed up to move into the new kiosks, including:

• Alf’s Shoe Repairs

These new kiosks represent a fantastic opportunity for local entrepreneurs and small businesses to become part of a revitalised town centre. The council is now inviting Expressions of Interest from individuals and businesses who would like to join this exciting new chapter for the market.

Tameside Council Executive Member for Towns, Transport, and Connectivity Cllr Stephen Homer said: “We’re looking for passionate, high-quality food, drink and local produce businesses to help bring the new Market Square to life. There’s also scope for a small retail offer to complement the wider market experience. “Whether you're an established business looking to expand or someone with a long-held ambition to start your own venture, this is your chance to be part of something new.”
