Helping Hands for Families Facing Rising Costs

Low-income families across Tameside are being invited to attend drop-in sessions for face-to-face help with applying to the Household Support Fund.

Tameside Council are holding the sessions throughout October at Tameside One, Ashton and Hattersley Library, offering support with applications for help towards food, energy costs.

The Household Support Fund is available to assist eligible residents who are struggling with the cost of living. Staff will be on hand to guide people through the application process and answer any questions.

Tameside Council Executive Member for Finance and Resources, Cllr Hugh Roderick, said:
"We know things are tough right now with costs going up, and these drop-in sessions are a simple way for people to get help through the Household Support Fund. Our team will be there to walk residents through it and make the whole thing as easy as possible."

The Household Support Fund is part of the council’s wider commitment to supporting residents through the cost-of-living crisis, aligning with the Corporate Plan priority of building strong communities and reducing inequalities.
