People who look after someone in Tameside are invited to learn about their rights, get practical advice and connect with a range local services and organisations.
Carers UK report that every day, 12,000 people become unpaid carers for a partner, family member or a friend – many of whom don’t see themselves as carers, often unaware of their legal rights and what they’re entitled to in terms of support and benefits.
On Carers Rights Day, Thursday 20 November people are welcomed to join the team at Tameside Carers Centre between 10am until 12noon to learn about the support they are entitled to and talk to:
Executive Member for Adult Social Care Councillor John Taylor said: "Knowing your rights as a carer is so important. Come along and find out about the support you're entitled to. Our friendly team are here to help you access the services that can make a real difference."
