As temperatures drop and energy bills remain a concern for many, Tameside Council is once again supporting residents through its network of Warm Welcome Hubs.
The hubs are free, safe and welcoming spaces located across the borough where people can spend time, connect with others and access useful facilities. Many hubs offer amenities such as free Wi-Fi, access to computers, books to read, and places to charge devices. Some also host regular activities and provide information about local support services.
Warm Hubs are part of the council’s wider Helping Hand initiative, which brings together support for residents facing cost-of-living pressures. The hubs are open to everyone and are especially valuable for those who may be feeling isolated or looking for a warm space during the day.
There are hubs in each part of the borough, including libraries, community centres, churches and other venues. Each hub is different, so residents are encouraged to check the Warm Welcome Hubs webpage for details of what’s available and when: www.tameside.gov.uk/warm-welcome-hub.
Councillor Taf Sharif, Tameside Council Executive Member for Population Health and Wellbeing, said: "We know that winter can be a difficult time for many, especially with the ongoing cost-of-living challenges. Our Warm Welcome Hubs offer more than warmth, they offer friendship, connection and support. We’re incredibly proud to work with our community partners to create these spaces of kindness and comfort across Tameside."
Don’t face winter alone, find your nearest Warm Welcome Hub and drop in today.
