THREE local primary schools brought their twists on classic pantomimes at Stalybridge Victoria Market Hall, for Christmas performances.
Children from Micklehurst All Saints CE Primary School, Aldwyn Primary Schools, and Bradley Green Primary Academy, delivered lively shows filled with songs, humour, and engaging crowd interaction across 10 and 11 December.
Tameside Council Cultural Services Team, worked alongside National Theatre practitioners to deliver this project, with Tameside Music Service facilitating singing lessons for the children.
Families, friends, and younger classes, joined to watch the year three, four and six groups perform their Christmas shows, Jack and the Christmas Tree, following six weeks of rehearsals.
This is a part of the pilot programme of events and activity following repairs to the Hall, enabling Tameside Council to test demand and operational requirements for the building.
Tameside Councils Executive Member for Lifelong Learning and Culture, Cllr Leanne Feeley, said: “These performances were excellent at fostering culture and creativity with our younger residents. It was a wonderful use of our Market Hall, and each of the performing classes did an absolutely fantastic job entertaining the audience. What a perfect way to continue the Christmas season.”
