Date Released - 19/12/2025

Residents, businesses, and stakeholders are being invited to have their say on the current phase of the Borough’s Local Plan, known as ‘Homes, Spaces and Places’.

The Local Plan sets out how Tameside will grow over the next 15 years. It will also protect green spaces, and ensure the right infrastructure is in place to support new homes and jobs up to 2042.

The online consultation is now open which will play a vital role in Tameside’s future. Drop-in sessions will be taking place across all of the borough’s towns over the next few months. The draft plan has already been shaped by previous feedback from the first two stages of consultation.

The draft plan includes:

Cllr McLaren, Deputy Leader and Executive Member for Growth, Housing and Homelessness, said: “Everyone’s voice in Tameside matters. This is your opportunity to shape the borough’s future and influence how it grows and thrives. We want to hear from as many people as possible to make sure our Local Plan reflects the needs and aspirations of our communities. Please take the time to get involved and have your say. Together, we can create vibrant neighbourhoods, thriving towns, and spaces that work for everyone.”
