Tameside Libraries champion wellbeing during Health Information Week

Date Released - 19/01/2026

Residents can access a range of health and wellbeing support through Tameside Libraries’ Health Fair, as part of Health Information Week 2026.

The free event will be held at Ashton Library on Tuesday 20 January from 10am to 2pm. Attendees can chat with local organisations to learn more about health services available, including NHS Tameside and Glossop Talking Therapies, Healthwatch, Tameside Macular Society Support Group, Home-Start, and Tameside Pulmonary Fibrosis Support Group.

Health Information Week is a national, multi-sector campaign running from 19 to 25 January 2026 and promotes trusted, high-quality information for patients and the public.

In addition to the Health Fair, Tameside Libraries will be running jigsaw and mindful colouring sessions across the week at various libraries. These sessions are aimed at adults and promote a way to relax, unwind, and encourage people to take some ‘me time’ to enhance their sense of wellbeing. See details below:

Tameside Council Executive Member for Lifelong Learning and Culture Cllr Leanne Feeley said: “The Health Fair is a fantastic opportunity to connect with local groups and make informed decisions.

“I encourage everyone to visit our libraries during Health Information Week to access this valuable, reliable information and manage your physical and mental wellbeing through the sessions.”
