Date Released - 28/01/2026

Local businesses and community groups are being invited to join the Climate Action Conference on Monday 9 February at Victoria Market Hall in Stalybridge.

The event being hosted by Tameside Council will bring together businesses, community groups, and environmental organisations to explore practical, cost‑effective ways to reduce environmental impact and support a greener, more resilient Tameside.

Running from 9.30am to 4.30pm, the conference will include speakers from organisations working across conservation, ecology, sustainable development, and community action. Two interactive workshops will also give attendees the chance to learn more about realistic steps they can take, share their own experiences, and discover the support available locally.

Speakers will include representatives from:

A networking lunch will also be provided, offering everyone the opportunity to make new connections, explore partnership opportunities and learn about the support available for sustainability projects.

Councillor Laura Boyle, Executive Member for Environmental Services and Neighbourhoods, said:
“This conference is an important opportunity for Tameside to come together and take meaningful steps towards our shared environmental goals. Whether you’re already active in climate action or just starting your journey, this event will provide inspiration, practical guidance and the chance to collaborate with others committed to making a difference. The choices we make today will shape the future for our children and young people. Our community’s commitment to climate action is key to creating a better Tameside.”
