Families across Greater Manchester or Tameside are invited to enjoy a free day of fun as Stamford Park’s popular Spring Family Fun Day returns on Sunday 26 April, with activities for all ages.
Running from 12noon to 4pm, the annual event brings together entertainment, hands‑on activities and community stalls, all set up in the park’s beautiful Victorian landscape as the tulips come into full bloom.
Visitors can explore a wide range of attractions, including stalls from local charities, community groups and council teams such as Libraries, Culture, Community Safety and Fostering. The day also features an exciting mix of free activities for children and families to enjoy, including:
To support healthy communities, this year’s event will once again be smoke‑free, with Public Health on‑site offering information and advice.
Cllr Laura Boyle, executive member for environmental services and neighbourhoods, said: “Spring Family Fun Day is one of those events that brings the community together. Year after year, it offers people of all ages a chance to spend quality time outdoors, try something new and enjoy a fantastic mix of activities without worrying about cost. We’re proud to offer a free event that is full of energy and fun, and we look forward to seeing residents and visitors join us for a great day out.”
As parking around Stamford Park is limited and largely residents‑only, visitors are encouraged to travel by public transport, bike or on-foot, wherever possible. Pay‑and‑display parking is available on Darnton Road for £1 for those who need to travel by car.
