Tameside Autumn Jobs Fair to provide hundreds of employment opportunities for residents

Date Released - 17/08/2026

Tameside residents will be able to access a variety of job and training opportunities at the Autumn Jobs Fair.

The fair will be held at Dukinfield Town Hall, SK16 4LA, on Wednesday 23 September 2026 from 10am to 1pm.

Organised by Tameside Council’s Employment and Skills Team and sponsored by Northern Marking, it will connect employers with local talent to fill vacancies and provide training and education opportunities.

A wide variety of employers and training providers will attend, offering hundreds of live vacancies which can be applied for on the day as well as training and support for attendees’ career journeys, such as CV and interview guidance.

Residents of all ages from across Tameside and the wider area can attend the free, drop-in event, with both full and part-time roles available. It allows jobseekers and employers to speak face-to face and offers attendees expert advice.

Employers from a range of sectors are invited to book a free stall at the event to recruit, network, and showcase their company. The Employment and Skills Team will be on hand to support throughout the day.

Employers attending so far include DWP Civil Service, Eastlands Venue Services, Jigsaw Homes, NHS Foundation Trust, and Hyde Group, alongside many of Tameside Council’s teams such as Engineering and Shared Lives.

The Jobs Fair is held twice a year, with the spring event earlier this year attracting over 800 residents, many of whom secured employment as a direct result of meeting employers on the day. Positive feedback included that it had “lots of variety”, was “very well organised” and had “kind and informative” staff.

Tameside Council Executive Member for Lifelong Learning and Culture, Cllr Leanne Feeley said: “The Autumn Jobs Fair is back and better than ever, with lots of brand new roles and training offers all in one place, following the success of our previous fairs.

“The jobs fairs do a fantastic job of helping residents along their career journeys, whether it’s getting hired, accessing training, or getting the support they need to take the next steps.

“I encourage anyone who is considering making a change or trying something new to come along and help us find the perfect opportunity for you.”
