DETAILS have been confirmed for this year's Remembrance Services in Tameside, where residents can come together to pay their respects and honour to those who have served their country and made sacrifices in defence of freedom and peace.
Tameside Council has confirmed details of the Remembrance Services taking place across the borough during Remembrance weekend (Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 November), as well as services to be held on Wednesday 11 November.
The council works with local groups, organisations, faith groups and residents to support Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day.
These important events give people the chance to come together, pay their respects and remember those who gave their lives in service. Residents are invited to attend, take a moment to reflect, and join their communities in honouring those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Civic Mayor of Tameside Cllr Helen Bowden said: “We hope everyone can join us as we come together to share our respect and gratitude for those who made sacrifices while serving their country. Their bravery and dedication are the reason we are able to live our lives freely today, so it is important that we take the time to remember and honour their sacrifice.
“Please do come along and join us at one of the many Remembrance Services.”
