StArt, the biannual exhibition of work by Tameside primary schools, has again filled the walls at Tameside Central Art Gallery with a vibrant celebration of creativity.
Eight schools from across the borough have submitted works on a range of themes. The result is a riot of space rockets, painted animals, self-portraits and graffiti art.
Some children have drawn inspiration from famous artists too, including Roy Lichtenstein and Kandinsky.
Cllr Frank Travis, Tameside Council’s assistant executive member for culture, said: “This exhibition is a wonderful way of recognising and inspiring youngsters’ artistic abilities. We have been very impressed by the standard of work, which has come together as an appealing and colourful display for all to enjoy.”
Tameside Central Art Gallery is above Tameside Central Library on Old Street, Ashton.
Open: Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday: 10am to 12.30pm and 1 to 4pm.
Saturday: 10am to 1pm.
Closed: Sunday, Monday and Thursday.
