TAMESIDE Council has adopted a Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) for a specific area of Haughton Green following a meeting of its Executive Cabinet on August 30.
Coming into effect as planning guidance from Monday, September 11, it will help to guide future development within a specific area of Haughton Green.
Containing a number of policies to assist developers and residents alike when designing schemes, the SPD will also help the council to make consistent decisions when assessing planning applications.
Cllr John Taylor, who leads on planning matters for Tameside Council, said: “This is great news for the residents of Haughton Green, a number of whom have been actively involved in developing the guidance which further strengthens the existing recognition of local character for this part of the borough.”
The SPD and its supporting documents are now available to view on the council’s website: www.tameside.gov.uk/haughtongreenspd
In addition, reference copies of the SPD and its supporting material can be found in libraries, and the council’s customer-service centre and planning department main office at Clarence Arcade, Stamford Street, Ashton.
