Celebrating our older residents

Date Released - 28/09/2017

FROM coffee mornings to family games – there’s lots going on in Tameside to celebrate UK Older People’s Day.

The annual event, which coincides with the UN International Day of Older Persons, helps highlight the achievements and contributions that older people make to our community.

Celebrations and activities held on or around  1 October, also promote healthy life styles, give opportunities to combat loneliness, encourage volunteering and sharing skills with different generations.
