A drop-in information day has been organised in Tameside for people with both vision and hearing loss.
It will enable people with dual sensory loss to find out what services and help are available.
The event, organised by Tameside Council’s Adult Services, will be held at Tameside Deaf Association, 225 Mossley Road, Ashton, on Monday, 23 July, from 10.30am to 2.30pm.
It will feature information stalls from a host of organisations including Tameside Council’s Sensory and Interpreting Services, Community Response Service and Direct Payments. Other stalls include Deafblind UK, Tameside Hospital’s Audiology/Hearing centre, Henshaws, RNIB, Ring and Ride, Sarabec, Action Together and Tameside Deaf Association.
Refreshments will be provided on the day. All are welcome to attend and can bring their own lunch and stay for a chat.
Tameside Council Executive Leader, Cllr Brenda Warrington, said: “This event will feature a host of information and support to make life easier for those with both vision and hearing loss. If you’re aware of anyone who would benefit then please let them know.”
