IF you’re concerned about your ability to use the internet, now’s the time to do at least one thing about it.
Between October 15 and 21 Tameside Libraries will be hosting Get Online Week when you’ll be welcome to drop in, #try1thing and improve your online skills.
Whether it’s to help with health, employment, learning, online safety or just to explore and have some fun, Libraries have lots of suggestions for you to try. Record your progress in our #try1thing passport and you could win an iPad2 in a prize draw sponsored by Twiggled.
You can also find out about eBooks, eMagazines and other free online resources.
Cllr Leanne Feeley, Tameside Council’s executive member for lifelong learning, said: “This is a national campaign aimed at giving people who have little online experience the chance to try one new thing online as a step to improving their digital skills.
“If residents come into one of our libraries they’ll be able to find help on getting started, explore new apps and websites, or just take a quick course to build their confidence.”
