Tameside’s 12 Celebrations of Christmas

Date Released - 02/11/2018

JUST as there are 12 days of Christmas, there are 12 Tameside festive celebrations this year.

The tree switch-ons and other events are taking place right across the borough, led by town teams, ward councillors and other organisations with support from Tameside Council. All have the community at their heart and feature music, entertainment, parades and other family-friendly attractions.

Tameside Council’s executive member with responsibility for cultural services, Cllr Leanne Feeley, said: “We’re working with towns and the community to plan some fantastic festive events and we really want people to get involved, while supporting their local towns and traders.”

The programme begins in Droylsden and Stalybridge on Saturday, November 17, and ends on the weekend of December 7 to 9 when Denton hosts a three-day Christmas market and the Tameside Christmas Celebrations event and lantern parade.
