IF you’re an employer with vacancies to offer, the spring jobs fair is just the place to find the right people to fill them.
Following the success of the annual September events, organisers Tameside Council, Jobcentre Plus and Jigsaw Homes are looking to offer the public even more opportunities to find work and training.
The spring fair takes place on Friday, 10 May, at Jigsaw’s 249 Cavendish Street, Ashton, headquarters (10am to 2pm). It’s an open event allowing job-seekers to meet employers and apply for live vacancies. They can also talk to training providers about the chance to develop new or existing skills. More than 600 people attended the September despite bad weather.
Cllr Ged Cooney, Tameside Council’s executive member for growth and wellbeing, said: “Increasing employment within the borough is a key aim for all involved. With support from business, we can offer a wide range of opportunities to get people back into work.
“It will also be a great opportunity for employers to meet local talent in one room, allowing them to shortlist potential candidates on the day.”
There is no charge for exhibiting. Any businesses that would like to get involved should email firstname.lastname@example.org
