Tameside Jobs Fair is back with hundreds of jobs available for local residents

Over 40 employers, with hundreds of employment opportunities across a range of sectors will be available at Tameside Council’s Autumn Jobs Fair. These include event sponsors Balfour Beatty, Bennett Staff and Jigsaw Homes, as well as local employers such as Tameside Council, Active Tameside, NHS, Vinci Construction, Visual Architects & Stagecoach.

The Jobs Fair which is held twice a year has live vacancies as well as training, support and skills providers who will be on hand to help your employment journey. This will include the in work progression support provided by ‘Tameside In Work’ and the supported employment service ‘Routes to Work’ as well as training providers such as Tameside Adult Community Education.

Tameside Council’s Economy Employment and Skills Team, in partnership with Balfour Beatty, Bennett Staff and Jigsaw Homes are hosting the Autumn Jobs Fair on Thursday 29 September at Dukinfield Town Hall from 10am to 1pm. This free event is open to residents of all ages from across Tameside to come along and drop in on the day.

The Tameside Job Fair held this spring successfully welcomed hundreds of people through the doors. Local employer Sterling Finance Ltd recruited two members of staff at the Spring Jobs Fair and endorsed the event saying they will be attending again this Autumn; “Tameside Spring Jobs Fair proved to be a huge success for us as part of the recruitment process. It was great to meet and engage with prospective candidates in person – it really works!”

Councillor Dave Sweeton, Tameside Council Executive Member for Inclusive Growth, Business and Employment, said: “It’s great to see so many employers on board. These events are important in both supporting local businesses with recruitment challenges as well as helping residents to secure work and boost their income in these challenging times. The diverse range of jobs and training on offer provides the perfect opportunity for someone looking to start or change their career.”
