A new pregnancy and baby fair is coming to town!

Date Released - 11/10/2023

Expectant and new parents will be able to find an array of specialist health and wellbeing advice, ideas and suppliers of all things ‘baby’ at Tameside’s new pregnancy and baby fair this November.

Services will be coming under one roof for the event at Hyde Town Hall on Saturday 18 November between 10am-2.30pm, where parents also have the opportunity to speak to specialists from pre- and post-natal services.

The Tameside Pregnancy and Baby Fair is designed to help families on their parenthood journey, and is being organised in collaboration with Tameside Council, Health Services and Home-Start.

Tameside Council Deputy Executive Leader, Councillor Bill Fairfoull, said: “The Tameside Pregnancy and Baby Fair is the first of its kind in the borough, and I’m hoping it will be a fantastic opportunity for expectant and new parents to speak to the amazing staff from our crucial local services. It’s a brilliant example of partnership working to meet the needs of our local families.”

The event will include ‘ten-minute talks’ covering a range of topics and demonstrations such as baby first aid, breastfeeding support and keeping well. Plus, there will be stalls for you to browse offering baby shower ideas, gifts, and wellbeing experiences.

It is hoped that the Tameside Pregnancy and Baby Fair will be the first of many, with organisers intending to take the event to other locations in the borough in future.

There’s still time to get involved if you run a pregnancy or baby service or business in the area by contacting the organisers at grow@tameside.gov.uk
